Brea Sondhi is an Indian lesbian writer and filmmaker across New York and New Delhi.

Her work blends humor, heart, and surrealist flair to tell stories that serve as mirrors for our inner and outer worlds. After a decade in clean-energy tech, Brea could no longer squeeze stories into the margins of her life and left product management to create comedies and dramas across TV, shorts, features, and novels. She puts queer characters at the center of universally human narratives and celebrates the unlikely friendships that remind us that connection comes when we stay open to the unexpected.

Brea works across the full spectrum of filmmaking, from story development, to directing and producing, and performing. Her debut TV pilot, Nina & The In-Betweeners, has placed in multiple screenplay competitions, including the Austin Film Festival and PAGE International Awards. She produced, co-directed, and starred in her debut short film, Enough, which is now in its international festival run, and she continues to build stories and contribute on indie sets across both Delhi and New York.

Beyond film, Brea performs original bilingual music at community venues, works in voiceover for narration, and character roles, and teaches yoga.

Brea’s stories are grounded in a mission to spark inner change that ripples out into a more human, more just world.
